When your final is just another test.

In many classes, your grade is split into weighted categories — e.g., Homework 20%, Quizzes 15%, Tests 40%, Participation 10%, Final 15%. But sometimes the final doesn't get its own category. Instead, it's added as one more test in the "Tests" category. This changes the math because the final affects your test average, not the overall grade directly.

This is the percentage of your total grade that the Tests/Exams category is worth. For example, if your syllabus says "Tests: 40%," enter 40. This includes the final exam since it's counted as a test.

This is how many tests the final is equivalent to. Most of the time the final counts as 1 test, so leave it at 1. Some professors make the final count as 2 tests (double-weighted), in which case enter 2.

Check your gradebook or LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.) for your test/exam category average. If you can't find it, add up all your test scores and divide by the number of tests. For example, if you scored 85, 78, 92, and 88 on four tests, your average is (85 + 78 + 92 + 88) ÷ 4 = 85.75%.
