What do you need on your calculus final?

Calculus finals are typically worth 30–40% of your total grade — heavier than most other courses. Many math departments use a common final that's cumulative, covering everything from limits and derivatives (Calc I) through integrals and series (Calc II and III).

If your professor curves, your actual final score may be adjusted upward. Use the pre-curve score to calculate the worst-case scenario, then re-run the calculator with a curved estimate if you know the typical curve. Some professors add 5–10 points; others curve to a median of 70%.

A 75% in calculus is around the national average for Calc I and is typically a C. Whether that's acceptable depends on your program — engineering and pre-med students usually need at least a B (83%) in calculus to stay on track with prerequisites.
