What do you need on your biology final?

Most introductory biology finals are worth 15–25% of your total grade. Anatomy & Physiology finals are often on the higher end (20–30%) because the course is cumulative. Check your syllabus — some programs weight lecture and lab finals separately.

If lecture and lab are separate grades in your transcript (common in many programs), only enter your lecture grade and the lecture final's weight. If they're combined into one grade with the lab as a weighted category, you'll need to account for the lab portion in your "current grade" number.

The average grade in intro bio courses is typically a C+ to B- (around 75–82%). Pre-med students generally aim for an A (93%+) since biology is a core science for medical school applications. An 80% (B-) is solid for non-pre-med tracks.
